Guest Speaker
District Gov. Gig Langston spoke with the Club about the changes occurring in Rotary. First he announced that District 5910 contributed $24,000 and with Bill Gates matching $126,000 to Polio Plus. Some of the changes that are being made are to keep up with times and keep Rotary current. The changes are being made to keep up with the times and make the experience more vibrant. Also will give the Clubs more flexibility to make changes that fit with each club. Changes include meeting times, membership, service projects, Satellite Clubs (The Woodlands just stated this. Our Club could be a good candidate as well), and the ability to conduct meetings on-line. The items not changing are the Qualifications, Values, and 4 Way Test. The focus is to grow and evolve the clubs membership. A review of the Rotary changes and amendments are currently being reviewed by the Club.
