THIS WEEK AT ROTARY
Jerry Vineyard
"Over Under Feeding The Homeless Ministry"
Meet the pastor who set up a church for the homeless: 'It's dirty and painful, but worth it".
Jerry Vineyard is a pastor leading a church for the homeless and addicted in a park in Conroe, Texas. His journey to building a church without a building is one of listening to God and going against the grain. The church – the Under Over Fellowship – just celebrated its fifth anniversary and has a membership of around 75, half of them either homeless or in transition.

Mid-Year Meeting is February 11th in Huntsville, TX. Please let Victoria know if you would like to sign up to attend.
January 9th is the next board meeting. It will be at Daniela’s new location in Blue Heron Center.  
Los Compadres is ONLY 4 months away. We need auction items and golf teams!  
Corp sponsors are only $1,000 each this year. 
Golf teams are $800 each.
We have vendor booths available for $300 each
Last year we had 17 groups – 9 of them were corp and 8 pf them we teams. Right now we have 8 teams that have confirmed. We still have a lot to do to make next year’s budget successful.  
 
Committee Reports
a.            Admin – Daniela  - we need speakers for February and March.
b.            Membership – Shanon – we will induct a new member on January 19th
c.             Public Image – Deanna  - no report
d.            New Generations – Rick / Peggy – school year is starting back up. Please get a head start and collect wrapping paper and toilet paper rolls to have a good start for the project.
e.            Doris / Randall – Youth Exchange / Ashley RYLA – RYLA is this weekend. Think about the kids and Doris in this cold weather!
f.             Service – Jan  - Scholarship apps are being sent to the schools. Roz is heading that committee and will need volunteers to review the applications and pick recipients. Please let her know if you are interested.
g.            Foundation – Gary – no report
h.            Polio – Mike – He is collecting money for polio. There is watch that will be raffled off and all proceeds will be donated. Please see Mike for raffle tickets.
i.              Memory Park- Kris, Gary or Don  - no report
 
Melanie Davis with Green Zone Housing gave us a heartfelt presentation about Veterans and the many challenges they face. She shared her recently published book with us, and told us about the planned Green Zone Housing development in Montgomery.
