The Rotary Club of Lake Conroe was honored to present the 3rd annual Linda Ricketts Literacy Scholarship to a worthy recipient on September 14th, 2016
Literacy was Linda's passion, and when she passed away several years ago, our loss was a great one. To honor her memory and commitment, RCLC established this scholarship to be awarded to an employee of the Montgomery County Memorial Library System working toward a graduate degree in Library Sciences. The 2016 recipient is Robyn Droddy, who was also the recipient in 2014, the first year of the scholarship. Robyn is a Library Assistant II at the R.B. Tullis Branch Library in New Caney.

RCLC was very excited to have helped Robyn begin her educational journey for this degree in 2014, and it was a particular honor to help her as she completes her degree plan in 2017. The scholarship was presented by Immediate Past District Governor Doris Lockey at the branch, with Robyn's fellow employees in attendance to cheer her on. When Robyn won the first scholarship, Linda was at the ceremony, which was also a time when we honored Linda for her work in literacy. We know she must be smiling in heaven now. Congratulations Robyn!
